TEZPUR - EDUCATION
In Tezpur Province, Ursuline Sisters are serving in 18 institutions from nursery to primary, middle and high school with 7000 students.
Most of the schools are in the tea garden, rural areas where children and youth from poor families are disadvantaged because they do not get opportunities for schooling due to lack of family income.This explains the reason for high drop- out rate of children from schools.
As in all our schools sisters are committed to their profession and teach subjects that enable students to gain valuable knowledge while fostering the growth of Christian values and promoting the dignity of the person. When possible they provide protection and financial support to students. Counselling and accompaniment are integral to their ministry.
